[Innisfree] Mineral Stick Concealer in #3 True Beige

So I saw that J made a cute signature thing so I had to make one too XD My hair turned out too light though cause I forgot to turn off flux x_x

Aaanyway, enjoy the review!

---------------------------------------------------------------------
Nice and simple packaging
Swatch - #3 True Beige
Top: eye circlessss, Bottom: with one layer of concealer

Yeah I can still see my eye circles but far away it looks fine. I didn't want to cake another layer on xD

Another thing to note is that when I swatch the concealer it has a kind of red undertone but when I apply it to my yellowy skin and blend it out I don't really see it o_o Strange, huh?

Pros:
✓✓ Pretty good coverage
✓ Not liquid, so spillage won't occur
Cons:
Texture is kind of thick so it's sorta hard to apply (maybe would be better in hot weather?)
     >> People with dry skin probably won't like this
Lid is quite loose so might fall off sometimes

Overall: 7.5/10
I like that it has good coverage (you could definitely go full coverage with this) but I think I prefer my concealers more creamy. This will definitely be good in summer though!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
I got this for USD$9.98 on cosmetic.jolse.com. It's slightly cheaper on ebay by a couple cents. I think the price is average; I don't regret buying it for that price or anything.

Things to look forward to!

Hey everybody, it's J here! K and I are pretty swamped with assignments and tests that every university students get swamped with so the blog might be a little slow again for a while...

But in the meantime, here's some things to look forward to!
-K's review of Skinfood's Egg Pore Facial Cleanser. K says she really likes it so I'm looking forward to her review!
-J's review on the ZA Two-Way Foundation...
-and a haul! Another teeny tiny one, but more than three things so...

Look forward to it! :D

[Skinfood] Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream

By J

So on my quest to find the concealer for my circles I decided to give this a try.

Its salmon-y peachy colour is supposed to cancel out the blue/purple tones.

Its description is:

"A dark circle concealer cream with salmon oil that effectively conceals dark circles while promoting brighter, softer skin. The highly concentrated formula applies like a second skin and stays put without clumping, no matter how many layers you apply."

I've been using this alone, over bb-cream, under everyday minerals loose powder foundation and also under my new ZA two way foundation (that I'll review soon!). It works pretty well I guess; take a look at the pictures and decide for yourself c:

Oh and, there are two shades; as usual I bought the lighter one (salmon blooming).

Once you start using this, the colour underneath is peachier and lighter.

Oh and, when you first open it up it has these moisture spots or something sitting at the top. Some bloggers reckon it's salmon oil; I'm not really sure but it doesn't affect the product.

It doesn't smell or anything, and you can really pack it on. Only downside is if you do that and you don't powder it, or you rub it, you'll leave like a huge empty spot XD

Sorry about the photo qualities; I had to try and fix the lighting on photoshop and there's only so much that can be done before things start going south :c
And I hadn't done my eyebrows so they were looking a little bedraggled so I cropped them out lol :D

___________________________________________________________________
Pros:
Its creaminess is really good for dry undereyes, and I haven't noticed much creasing for me. I've also used this for brightening around my mouth, and it doesn't accentuate the dry skin around my mouth.
The packaging is really solid and it pretty cute
I've been using this for about 4 months and I've still got more than half
Medium coverage; does a good job at making me look less punched

Cons:
L For my broke-ass cheapo student budget this was a little expensive. It's $10.98usd on jolse and Oh wow searching this up on ebay I found I totally got ripped. You can get it off ebay for $5.66-$8.33usd
It's not full coverage, especially if you've got really dark circles. If you're looking to fully conceal, this is the wrong product
It will move around if you don't set it, and you touch it

Overall: 3.5/5  I like it well enough I guess, but I don't love it. I saw this review for a concealer that's supposedly a good duper for the NARS creamy concealer, and I want to give that a try when the concealers I have right now start running low.

Bought from cosmetic.jolse, but you can find it cheaper on ebay.

[Lioele] Multi Seaweed Gel

By J
Sample Review

Unlike the tonymoly I'm Real Seaweed Aqua Moisture Lotion I reviewed, which I had three samples, I only had one of these, and so I hadn't used this for as long.

But nonetheless I got a pretty good feel for it and decided to compare it to the tonymoly one :D

It claims to:
  • give a calming and cooling sensation
  • be moisturising
  • tightening
  • lifting
  • trouble care
  • and daily care
In addition, you can supposedly pack this on and use it as a mask. (But I swear its lack of moisturising ability you'd probably have to use all of it ._.

I have to admit that I found this packaging a ton cuter than the tonymoly one.

Here's the front and back if anyone cares to read it. Sorry about the reflection ;c

Okay. So in the advertised pictures the gel is supposed to be a 'natural' colour of bright yellow? Idk what happened to mine LOL but it sure as heck wasn't yellow.

It's got this liquidy gel like texture. While I'm not sure about the whole 'calming' claim, it does give a very nice cooling sensation which was pretty nice for the summer.

There were a load of cons about this, so keep reading below
___________________________________________________________________
Pros:

It's very light
Gives cooling sensation

Cons:

L While this might be okay for those with very oily skin, this wasn't nearly moisturising enough for my dry cheeks (which aren't nearly as dry as usual in summer), and not really that moisturising for my oilier T-zone either
I didn't really notice any tightening of my skin/pores (but not that i really have too many to tell)
L Didn't notice any effects of any trouble care; still got one of my hormonal spots anyway lol
Doesn't contain any SPF even though it's supposed to be part of 'daily care'

Comparing to [TONY MOLY] I'm Real Seaweed Aqua Moisture Lotion

Not nearly as moisturising
L It costs nearly double the amount of the tonymoly one ($12.70USD for Lioele 100ml, $15.50USD for tonymoly 200ml)

The plus side is that using it is probably easier, as this comes in a pot and spatula, whereas the tonymoly one is just in a big bottle with a big opening.

Overall: 2/5
Verdict: I really didn't care for this product. I'd buy the tonymoly one over this any day :/

Full size pot (100ml) is about $12.70USD on ebay.

Hoorayyyyyyy for K! :D

K's tiny haul :D (cosmetic.jolse.com)

And when I say tiny I mean super tiny. I don't think you can even call it a haul LOL.

Etude House Oh m'Eye Line

By J

I SWEAR K IS GOING TO POST SOMETHING SOON ):
Don't let me down K  :c

Etude House Oh m'Eye Line was recommended to me by two friends, of which one has the same smudging/transferring issue with eyeliners as I do. It's pretty cheap so I thought 'what the heck; nothing to lose'.

This liquid eyeliner comes in black, grey and brown. I've only tried the black so that's what my review's on. :D

I bought this back in January in a haul along with some other stuff from cosmeticjolse.

And also, I apologise for the colour difference between the photos of the product and then me testing it out; I took the photos back when I first received it in the post... and now I've finally got round to taking the other photos and reviewing it :D" -shields self from projectiles-

The packaging is pretty simple; nothing fancy but it's functional.

1. Thickness example. It goes on liquid and then dries into kind of a... thin skin? o.o" But that's what makes it waterproof/smudgeproof/transferproof

2. Results after scrubbing at it with a slightly sweaty finger. Shh.

3. After water has been running over it for a while

4. Rubbing after it has been wet.

It comes off in flaky peels. It's easy to remove too :D

Sorry about the lighting lol. Hasn't budged since I put it on 7 hours ago!

 _________________________________________________________________

Pros:

Waterproof, smudge proof AND transfer proof. For however long you need it.
Cheap. Less than $6usd on cosmeticjolse, and even cheaper on ebay
J Pretty versatile to use; can go from natural to pretty dramatic
Convenient for travel
J Easy to remove

Cons:

L It can come off if it gets wet and you rub at your eyes. I've never encountered this issue though.
Have to wait for it to dry? But it only takes about 15-25 seconds max.

Overall: 5/5  Can't go wrong with this!

[TONY MOLY] I'm Real Seaweed Aqua Moisture Lotion

By J
Sample Review I bought the full size and reviewed the packaging here.

So I found out I had three of these samples in my ever growing sample collection so I thought it'd be a good time to do a review of this item, since I have enough to try for a week or two.

It's meant for dry skin, it's supposed to supply moisture to dry and rough skin and contains mineral-rich brown algae and seaweed extract.
It's main ingredients are
  •    - Fair trade Argan oil
       - Natural ingredients 72%
       - Sea water 30,000mg
       - 9 No Added Formula
(Parabens, talc, triethanolamine, benzyl alcohol, sulfate-based surfactants, propylene glycol, mineral oil, benzophenone, artificial colors free)
Yay, free samples :D
It's step two in your routine so I assume that's after toner, and before cream
It looks like there's a tiny amount, but I used this for well over a week.
The texture is quite light, and surprisingly transparent, if you can see in the picture, It smells of something but it's not an unpleasant smell.

There's a Lioele "version" of this sort of; it's another seaweed gel lotion sort of thing that I've done a comparison to this one. Take a look at it here :D

___________________________________________________________________

Pros:

It's moisturising enough and yet light enough for me to use on my forehead alone
It's a very good second step and moisturises my dry cheeks very well in addition to my cream
My skin feels a lot smoother
You don't need a lot to cover your face so the full bottle should last a while

Cons:

The bottle it comes in has just an open hole, so using a specific amount may be difficult
L Doesn't contain any SPF, and neither does any of their other products in their 3 Step program

Comparing to [Lioele Multi Seaweed Gel
Not sponsored or anything

Probably harder to use because this comes in a bottle whereas that comes in a pot

J This was much more moisturising
J You get more for your dollar!!! :DDD
I can actually notice this giving effect to its claim unlike the Lioele one

Overall: 4.95/5
VerdictI like it enough to buy it. I'll seriously consider it once I've tried and compared it to the Lioele one. Just gotta wait til I have a bit of spending money LOL and then I'm gonna get this. Only bummer is the lack of SPF :c

Edit: I actually bought it in my most recent haul seen here
Here's the full size one, where I just review the packaging.

Full size bottle (200ml) is about $16USD on ebay.
